Our Commitment to You

On a daily basis, we deliver academic enrichment in a family-oriented and loving atmosphere. Our hand-picked quality foreign and Thai teachers bring a kind-hearted presence to their classrooms while instilling scholarship and moral integrity.

We promote a sense of community between our students, parents, and teachers that complements personal growth and learning. From managers to teachers and administrative staff, students are exposed to leadership that lights the path ahead. They are shown the right way and given tender loving care to follow this good direction in their day-to-day attention to studies. Our teachers have a global perspective that is encouraged in the thinking of our students.

Admissions Policy

Wichai Wittaya School welcomes students of all nationalities who meet our admissions criteria. Enrolment is available year-round — your child can join our Nursery, Kindergarten, Primary, or Secondary programmes at any time during the academic year, subject to availability.

All applicants are required to sit for aptitude tests appropriate to their age and grade level, as well as attend an interview with the school administration. Placement is based on the student’s academic records, test results, and interview performance.

Students are placed in year groups based on their age as of the start of the academic year:

  • Nursery: From 18 months up to 3 years old
  • Kindergarten (KG1–KG3): 3 to 5 years old
  • Primary (Year 1–6): 6 to 11 years old
  • Lower Secondary (Year 7–9): 12 to 14 years old
  • Upper Secondary (Year 10–13): 15 to 18 years old

Wichai Wittaya School offers Academic, Performing Arts, and Sports scholarships for entry into Grade 7 to 10. All scholarships are awarded based on testing results, previous school reports, and an interview.

Academic Policy

Wichai Wittaya School follows the Cambridge Curriculum, approved by both the Education Ministry of Thailand and Cambridge Assessment International Education. The school primarily follows the Math-Science stream, while accommodating students’ individual abilities and talents.

We provide bilingual education where two languages are naturally learned: English (80%) and Thai (20%). We deliver both the Thai curriculum (Ministry of Education standards) and the Cambridge curriculum.

  • Monthly progress reports are provided for Kindergarten and Primary students
  • Mid-semester and end-of-semester reports are issued for all students
  • Primary and Secondary students take standardised examinations
  • National Examinations are administered as required by the Ministry of Education
  • Students from Year 4–12 take Cambridge ESOL Examinations four times per year

English is the primary language of instruction. In addition to English and Thai, the school offers Chinese Language for Grades 4–9 and Turkish Language for Grades 7–9.

Students entering at different levels have varying English requirements. Kindergarten students may start with zero English; Primary students need basic proficiency from Year 4; Secondary students require intermediate or higher English proficiency.

Student Welfare & Safety

Wichai Wittaya School maintains a safe, secure campus in the heart of Chiang Mai. We are committed to providing an environment free from bullying and intimidation, where students are encouraged to take risks in learning and personal development.

The school has comprehensive security measures including controlled campus access, CCTV monitoring, and trained staff supervision during all school hours and activities.

We believe every student is unique and special. Lessons and activities are designed for students with different abilities using a student-centered approach. Teachers apply several methods during lessons to engage all learners.

Gifted and Olympiad courses are available for students excelling in Math-Science subjects, and Art-Music courses are offered for talented students in those fields.

Please note: Wichai Wittaya is designed as a bilingual Cambridge system. Students with significant learning disabilities requiring intensive specialised care may be better served at institutions specifically designed for their needs.

School lunch is mandatory for all students. Swimming lessons are part of the curriculum for Kindergarten through Primary 2 students, with weekly sessions conducted by qualified instructors.
